Dr. Anne Thornhill Weston ’73 is the sixth Head of School at Ashley Hall and the only alumna to hold this position. She joined Ashley Hall as Assistant Head of School in July 2015, became Director of Upper School in 2018, and was named Head of School in 2022. Dr. Weston previously worked at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, SC, where she held various roles including teacher, Principal, Assistant Head, Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, Provost, and Interim Head of School. Dr. Weston holds a bachelor’s degree in science education from Duke University, where she was a member of the women’s basketball and sailing teams. She also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Biology and a Doctorate in Health Promotion and Education, both from the University of South Carolina. Known for her collaborative skills and dedication to student success, Dr. Weston has championed important curricular and wellness programs at Ashley Hall. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes collaboration and strong relationships, ensuring the continued growth and achievement of the school.
