This two-week online course is designed for independent school professionals who are looking to elevate their understanding of nonprofit accounting and financial reporting in an independent school setting. Topics include revenue recognition (tuition, contributions, endowments), GAAP/FASB compliance, net asset classification, donor restrictions, functional expense allocation, and IRS Form 990 reporting.
This course includes asynchronous instruction available daily through videos, reading and online discussion topics. To maximize learning, participants should plan to interact with the course frequently throughout the week.
An optional live one-hour study session is open to all participants on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET during each week. In addition to the collaboration opportunities presented in the course, you will establish a national learning community of peers with whom you can continue to explore the concepts discussed in the course.
This course is offered in partnership with the Association for Academic Leaders.
