Mark J. Mitchell is a vice president at the National Association of Independent Schools, managing special projects on the topics of tuition pricing, affordability, school financial aid policy and practices, demographic and income trends, and socio-economic diversity and inclusion. Mitchell also serves as part of the NAIS Strategy Lab Team, designing and delivering resources to assist schools in building capacity for strategic innovation. Prior to joining NAIS in 1998, Mitchell worked in financial aid administration at Northwestern University, Lake Forest College, and Access Group, Inc., a nonprofit providing graduate student education financing. An alumnus and past trustee of Moorestown Friends School in New Jersey, he currently serves as a trustee of the Lowell School in DC and the National Business Officers Association.
