Founded in 1784, Moses Brown School has been a leader in education for over 230 years with a proven tradition of academic excellence, a commitment to great teaching, and a dedication to fostering character and confidence in young people.
Moses Brown is a Quaker school, one of the oldest and largest of a network of 80 Friends schools in the U.S. While each is independent, they all share the same essential mission: to nurture and celebrate each child's special gifts, talents, and identities—referred to as their Inner Light.
At Moses Brown, 111 faculty members serve roughly 775 boys and girls ages 3-18, with a student-to-teacher ratio of 8:1. With $4 million awarded annually in need-based financial aid, roughly one quarter of students receive some kind of financial support from the school. They enjoy 33 wooded acres - formerly the farm of 18th-century Quaker abolitionist leader Moses Brown – providing expansive academic, artistic, and athletic facilities right in the heart of Providence, as well as an additional 20 acres of athletic fields in nearby Rehoboth, Mass. And with 25% of the student body being people of color, the community matches the demographics of the drawing area.
Casual attire (shorts, flip flops, dresses, polo shirts) is appropriate for all sessions and educational programs every day including the evening functions. Remember that meeting rooms tend to run cold so prepare accordingly.
Please bring a laptop or other device with wireless access.
There will be an off-site visit (location TBD) on the evening of Wednesday, June 20th. Bus transportation will be provided from the hotel to the city and back to the hotel at 9 pm. Please be sure to sign up at registration.
