(from Ed Week) Enrollment in private school choice programs have exploded in recent years, with Republican-led states collectively investing billions of dollars in subsidies for families to spend on private educational options of their choosing. Florida, Arizona, Ohio and North Carolina are the top states for increased enrollment in school choice, with programs in Kansas, Louisiana and New Hampshire seeing waitlists for choice funds.
(from EdWeek) Most Republican led states have universal school choice programs at this point, whether in the form of ESA accounts, vouchers, tax-credit funded scholarships or something else. Ohio is facing pressure to put limits on who is eligible for state money for school choice, as is West Virginia. Several other states are working through legal challenges to their choice programs.
