Pay Transparency Law Passes in Massachusetts

Aug 2, 2024, 12:05 PM

(From Schwartz Hannum PC) Earlier this week, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healy signed a law requiring employers with 25 or more employees to disclose salary ranges in job postings and mandates that employers with over 100 employees submit annual EEO data. Effective July 31, 2025, relevant employers must include pay ranges in job postings, notify employees of pay ranges for promotions or transfers, and provide pay ranges upon request. Employers with 100+ employees must submit annual wage data reports.

Keep a close eye on pay transparency requirements in all states where an employer does business, as the number of states enacting pay transparency laws continues to increase, said Schwartz Hannum PC in an e-alert about the legislation.
