In Singapore, a government initiative plans to develop an AI-enabled companion to provide customized feedback and motivation to students, automated grading and machine learning systems to identify how each student responds to classroom materials and activities. South Korea also aims to personalize learning through AI. Finland is providing free resources and training in the area.
(from Inside Higher Ed) As ChatGPT becomes commonplace among legal professionals, law schools are divided on whether to allow students to use the artificial intelligence tool in the admissions process. University of Michigan has banned the use in admissions essays, while ASU has allowed its use. Promoters saying not teaching proper use of the tool would be "malpractice" given its ubiquity and that accepting its use is accepting reality, while detractors say students may not be aware of its biases and factual limitations, but acknowledge that it's impossible to tell whether AI was used or not in an admissions essay.
