(From HR Dive) Amid economic uncertainty and widespread layoffs, many employees are clinging to their jobs — a trend known as “job hugging.” A July Eagle Hill Consulting report found most workers plan to stay put, as confidence in the job market drops. While lower turnover may seem beneficial, it can mask disengagement and limit opportunities for new talent. To counter this, organizations can foster internal “micromobility” through short-term, cross-functional projects that encourage growth and curiosity. HR leaders should also track career development conversations to identify engaged employees who remain focused on professional growth.
