Universities Crack Down on Student Protests

(From The New York Times) After years of tolerating protests, some schools are starting to suspend and expel students, citing safety and security concerns. Earlier this week, Columbia University officials authorized police to clear the dozens of tents set up by protesters holding unauthorized demonstrations against Israel’s war in Gaza. Similarly, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Brown University have recently taken swift and decisive action against student protesters.
