Surge in School Choice Legislation and What Schools Should Know

(From Venable LLP) A hallmark of the Trump administration’s education agenda, school choice programs provide public funds to families for education expenses, including independent school tuition. Following this endorsement, at least 114 bills have been introduced in 30 states this year to create or expand such programs. While these initiatives may present enrollment opportunities for independent schools, it’s important to carefully consider the potential implications of accepting public funds, including:
