Positive Trends in LGBTQ Youth Mental Health

(From The74) The Trevor Project's new survey highlights positive trends among LGBTQ youth, with lower rates of suicide, anxiety, and depression compared to previous years. While four out of 10 considered suicide in the last year, only 12% attempted it. Additionally, a little more than half suffered from depression, and two-thirds experienced recent anxiety. These rates, while still concerning, suggest progress in supporting LGBTQ youth's mental health. The survey also underscores the importance of affirming school environments and protective policies in reducing suicide attempts and fostering well-being among LGBTQ youth.
