(From NPR) The Trump administration will begin “aggressively revoking” visas for Chinese students, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced. He also said visa rules will be tightened for future applicants from China and Hong Kong. The policy could impact many of the 280,000 Chinese students in the U.S., depending on how broadly the criteria are defined. Earlier this week, the State Department paused student visa interview signups to allow more time for social media screening, sparking anxiety among students preparing to study in the U.S. this fall. The move signals a major shift in U.S. visa policy toward China.
