NBOA is pleased to again partner with NAIS in advocating for the interests of independent schools and the students they serve. The U.S. Senate passed a law in July that raises the bar in protecting children's online privacy. The second part of the law, Children's Online Privacy Protection Act 2.0, or COPPA 2.0, contains language that could exclude independent schools from exemptions in the new legislation. A simple change in language based on the current federal definition of schools would ensure all schools have the same exemption.
