Lockdown Drills That Help More Than Harm

(from NPR) Since the start of the school year, there have been more than 70 shootings on campuses across the U.S., according to the K-12 School Shooting Database. School leaders are grappling with how to prepare students while not traumatizing them. Doing lockdown drills in a trauma-informed way means preparing the students, allowing families to opt out, working with particularly sensitive kids and debriefing afterwards.
