Higher Ed Leaders Confident in Financial Stability

(From Inside Higher Ed) Despite recent challenges in the higher education sector, college leaders express confidence in their institution's financial stability, according to the most recent survey of Presidents by Inside Higher Ed. 82% feel confident about their financial health over the next five years, and 80% are confident over the next ten years. In addition to financial stability, college leaders are grappling with several other pressing issues in higher education:
  • Mergers and Closures: 16% have had serious discussions about merging, and 17% believe their institution should consider a merger in the next five years.
  • 2024 Election Outlook: 55% are concerned about how the election will impact diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • AI: Leaders are ambivalent about AI, with 50% feeling optimistic about its rise.
