(From Commonfund Institute) According to the latest update from the Commonfund Institute, the Higher Education Price Index (HEPI) forecasts a 3% inflation rate for U.S. colleges and universities in fiscal year 2024, down from 4% last year. HEPI, designed for higher education institutions, measures the average price change of goods and services purchased by colleges and universities, excluding research, and is used to project future budget increases to maintain purchasing power.
