(From Pew Research Center) About half of U.S. adults (51%) believe the public K-12 education system is on the wrong path, with only 16% saying it's going in the right direction, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey. Many cite insufficient focus on core academic subjects, such as reading and math, as a key concern. Republicans are more likely than Democrats to see the system negatively, with 65% of Republicans compared to 40% of Democrats believing it's headed the wrong way. Teachers also express pessimism, with 82% feeling public education has worsened in the past five years.
