“We have a tradition of all seniors having to give a senior speech. They are often amazing and moving. For his senior speech, Charles He, an international student from China, decided to do something totally different — a music video [see below]. He bought the rights to a popular Chinese song and rewrote the lyrics to capture his feelings about SCH and to pay tribute to his teachers and his shared experiences with the other international students. Charles and fellow senior Jordan Su sang the lyrics as well as filmed and edited the video using the resources of the VidCast Studio.

“The result made many people cry and students very proud of their school in a way that they have never been. It has been the talk of the school. Maybe we need to listen to our students a bit more!”

Editor’s note: About 5 percent of the high school students at SCH are international. They come from China, Korea, Germany, Mexico, South Africa and Bermuda.
