Mary Kay Markunas

Mary Kay Markunas

Mary Kay Markunas currently serves as Director, Research and Member Resources at NBOA, and has over 24 years of experience supporting management teams in independent schools and Fortune 100 companies. In this capacity, she manages all of NBOA's research efforts and surveys, as well as online resources and toolkits. Prior to joining NBOA, Markunas served as the director of finance and operations at The Avery Coonley School for 12 years. She holds a B.S. from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Palmer Ball

Palmer Ball

Prior to forming Palmer Ball Consulting, LLC Ball served as business manager at Spartanburg Day School (Spartanburg, South Carolina) for 21 years. She was the 2015 recipient of NBOA's Ken White Award, served two terms on the NBOA Board of Directors and was elected to the Association of Business Officers of Independent Schools (ABOIS) in 2008. Ball has served on the faculty of NBOA's Business Officer Institute (BOI) and at the Klingenstein Institute at Columbia University in New York City. Ball has presented the long-range budge model via online classes, webinars and presentations at numerous national and regional conferences. She holds a B.A. in biology from Converse College and an MBA in accounting from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
