Long-Range Financial Modeling

Overview

TIAA

This program is presented with generous support from TIAA.

The NBOA Long-Range Financial Model is an easy-to-use, customized ten-year budget model, created as an Excel spreadsheet. The model generates charts and graphs which can easily be dropped into dashboards or other presentations. It also creates real-time forecasts for tuition, enrollment, FTEs, plant replacement and more.

In this class, business officers will:

  • Learn the benefits of long-grange financial modeling and how it may be used to guide your decisions as part of long-range planning at your school.
  • Experiment with the modeling tool and receive instructions on loading the model and the assumptions you will need to make.
  • Receive coaching on using the reporting and graphing tools to make presentations to the Head of School, Finance Committee and other trustees.

Class size is limited to 35 participants.

The Long-Range Financial Modeling course is being offered in partnership between NBOA and One Schoolhouse.

"This is the second online course I have taken from NBOA. The most important value is that you can do as much, or as little work, on your own time. The material also is available for an additional month to tap into, and the materials are excellent! Knowledge you gain from your peers is priceless and it is especially satisfying with you can really identify with their situations. I always feel very lucky to have NBOA just a click away!"

"The online learning experience allowed me the freedom to learn at my own pace. The model is great and we have already incorporated it as a tool to help with forecasting."
